| Home | I'm a Miniature Vietnamese Pot bellied Piglet. For those of you pigs out there who don't know about us I'll tell you what we look like and a bit about us. |
| WHAT WE LOOK LIKE... | |
First of all we have very short legs so that when we're grown up (at 3 to 5 years) our tummies can touch the ground. Look at our poor mum here...she kept treading on her teats when she had us because they dragged along the ground! |
We have upright ears and fairly short snouts and lots of wrinkles on our faces (and the rest of our bodies). Boars (males) like Grandpa Orff here, have tusks on the sides of their mouthes. They also have long bristles along their backs that stand up if they get angry. If he and grandpa Otto fight they chomp their teeth until they froth and you can hear their tusks grinding against each other. Then they arch their necks sideways and circle each other until the fight begins. Then they stab each other sideways with their tusks. I run away when I see that. |
Our tails hang straight and can't curl and we are small. Everyone in our family is between 35 and 50 cm high. When a human (I call them tall ones) stands next to us we are below their knees. Grandpa Otto is very brave and lets them touch him. I won't do that in a million years - not after what my brother says they did to him! And I saw for myself two little cuts under his tail where there used to be bulges! And anyway they're always chasing us piglets and taking us away one by one.... |
Our backs are hollow and it looks like we're wearing baggy trousers. This is my mum Cuckoo when she was a bit younger. I think she's very beautiful! |
We are mostly black but some of us have white markings and can even be white with black spots like aunt Babe. |
| I've got tired now. I'm going to have a suckle and nap and I'll write more about us later.... Bye! |
